doHow® On Demand Leadership: Helping People and Companies Grow Since 2013

Every Diwali reminds me of that moment in 2013 — when I walked into a plant that everyone believed had lost its light. Machines stood still. Faces looked tired. The air was heavy with resignation. Someone whispered, “This plant is finished.”

But as I stood there, something stirred in me. Beneath the silence, I could still sense a faint glow — the quiet spark of human potential waiting to be seen again. That day became the beginning of a journey — not just for that plant, but for me.
The journey that led to the birth of doHow®.

Before I continue, let me confess, with humility, that this time I have chosen a different writing style in contrast to my more than 100 weekly articles in my LinkedIn Newsletter and more than 450 videos in my YouTube channel, or even my book The Prosperity doHow®, for kindling the fire to start questioning the status quo and achieve quantum leaps towards prosperity.

The Plant That Refused to Die — and Chose to Shine

When I first stepped into that medium-size manufacturing unit, it felt like walking into darkness. The customers had almost written off this plant. The people were demoralised, the machines half-idle, those working produced defects, and the atmosphere thick with doubt.

They looked at me with weary eyes that said, “We’ve heard it all before.” But I wasn’t there to give answers. I was there to listen. To help them see themselves differently.

So we began small — a ten-minute reflection meeting every day. A weekly discussion on what went well, what didn’t, and what needed attention. No blame, no hierarchy, just conversation and clear learning routines for everyone.

At first, the room was filled with complaints. Then came curiosity. Then came ownership. People began solving problems together. Small victories emerged — a setup done faster, a defect avoided, a delivery made right the first time.

Within six months, that same plant — once written off — became one of the most profitable in the group. Ten years later, it still thrives.

And that experience taught me something timeless — something that resonates beautifully with Diwali:

The brightest light often comes from the deepest darkness — once people start reflecting instead of reacting.

That plant’s transformation left me wondering:

Why do the same people shine brightly in one company and struggle in another?

I had seen it across countries, industries, and cultures. People are good everywhere. They want to contribute. They want to grow.

The difference lies in leadership — in the mindset of those who set the tone.

Where leaders inspire confidence, encourage learning and demand performance, people flourish. Where leaders control, blame, discourage reflection or shun away from conflicts, people fade.

That realisation became my life’s purpose:

To rekindle the human spark in workplaces — by helping people think together, reflect deeply, and discover their own answers.

That was the beginning of doHow® — a simple, reflective methodology that helps people transform through shared dialogue.

Over the years, I realised that what truly sets exceptional leaders and world-class companies apart is how they keep learning — through regular, meaningful reviews and reflections that drive steady progress. doHow®, which is method agnostic, simply turns this rhythm of reflection into a habit, helping people and organisations grow naturally towards prosperity.

My Purpose — Lighting Leadership at Every Level

From that day forward, my mission was clear:

To help organisations grow profitably and sustainably by building leadership capability at every level.

I wanted leadership to be visible, not only in the boardroom but also on the shop floor — in every meeting, every shift, every small decision. Because when every person starts thinking and acting like a leader, work becomes effortless.
Growth happens naturally — not through pressure, but through purpose.

The Capital Goods Company That Found Its Rhythm

A few years later, I met a capital goods company struggling with growth. The people were capable but disconnected — each busy in their own corner. We began by introducing rhythm — a simple heartbeat of reflection, review, and improvement.

And this time, we had something powerful to amplify that rhythm: technology. We created two applications — doHow® PEP (Performance Enhancement Platform) and doHow® ACT (Accountability Creating Tool).

They became the invisible light that connected people across time and distance.

With PEP, teams documented reflections, progress, and rolling plans.
With ACT, daily huddles, weekly reviews, and decisions became structured and transparent.

Every insight, every learning, every milestone — visible to all, anytime. Even when I wasn’t physically present, I could sense the organisation’s pulse remotely. That digital bridge allowed me to guide, coach, and align teams from afar — the foundation of what became doHow® On Demand Leadership.

Over the next few years, their growth soared past 15% CAGR — steady, sustainable, and self-driven.

They had not just improved their systems; they had transformed their thinking.

That’s when I realised:

Technology doesn’t replace leadership — it amplifies it.

It becomes the lamp that makes reflection visible and progress measurable.

The Birth of doHow® On Demand Leadership

As I continued working with more organisations, one concern echoed everywhere: “Dinakar, we’d love to have someone like you full-time, but we can’t afford it.” I would smile and say,

“You don’t need me full-time — you just need me at the right time.”

And that’s how doHow® On Demand Leadership was born.

With just two man-days a month, I could guide an entire organisation through structured reflection — made possible because PEP and ACT acted as my eyes and ears across locations. Through these platforms, I could see the rhythm of every plant — the huddles, the progress notes, the reflections, the improvements. Real-time dashboards made accountability transparent and leadership alive.

This model made high-quality leadership mentoring affordable and effective. It was supported by the doHow® Readiness Assessment I developed for leaders at various hierarchy levels to self-assess their Emotional, Cognitive and Technical competencies. It replaced dependency with self-sufficiency with practice hints for development.

I then created the doHow® Dialogue — for leadership ‘Manthan’ or churn — discovering our shared purpose, aligning how we work, building habits of excellence, learning continuously, and turning challenges into improvements. I’ve seen leaders awaken from routine to reflection. In just a few honest conversations, confusion gives way to clarity, blame to ownership, and effort to pride. That’s when real transformation begins — one dialogue at a time, one light igniting another.

When Leadership Becomes Music

After a few months of consistent practice, something magical happens. The daily huddles, weekly reflections, and monthly reviews begin to run by themselves. The organisation starts to hum — like a perfectly tuned orchestra.

No chasing. No firefighting. Just a steady rhythm of collaboration, trust, and flow.

Through ACT, every reflection and pledge is recorded and visible. Leaders don’t have to ask what’s happening — they can see it. This transparency kills politics, builds trust, and frees energy for innovation.

It’s leadership that feels alive — effortless and elegant.

The Turning Point — When Egos Fade and Light Enters

I’ve stood in many meetings filled with strong personalities — CXOs, senior managers, decades of experience. The air heavy with hierarchy.

When I start, I say softly,

“Today’s review is not to impress, defend, or justify — it’s to learn, align, and act to delight the stakeholders, especially our customers.”

At first, silence. Arms folded. Faces sceptical. Then I introduce the Golden Rules — no excuses, no finger-pointing, no upward delegation, no hiding behind averages.

And slowly, something changes. The tone softens. Heads nod. Truths are spoken without fear. The light of reflection enters the room. That’s when transformation truly begins — not through authority, but through authenticity.

It feels, in many ways, like Diwali — when one spark of honesty lights up an entire organisation.

Turning Reviews into Learning Loops

Every review follows five simple anchors:

  1. What did we agree last time?
  2. What changed since then?
  3. Was the change favourable or not?
  4. Who will do what by when?
  5. What decisions are needed now?

And before we close, we reflect: What went well? What didn’t? What did we learn? What will we do differently next time?

These reflections, captured and sustained in PEP and ACT, turn meetings into learning loops. The rhythm continues — day after day — creating a living culture of growth.

The Results — Measurable, Meaningful, and Bright

Over the years, I’ve seen doHow® light up organisations across industries:

  • Loss-making plants turning profitable
  • 100% on-time, in-full deliveries
  • Zero-defect quality becoming real
  • Productivity and morale rising hand in hand
  • Decisions becoming transparent and fair

But what touches me most are the human stories —

A supervisor proudly saying, “We did it.”
A worker suggesting an idea with confidence.
A leader listening instead of judging.

That’s when I know — the light has spread.

Reflections — My Lessons from the Journey

I’ve learned that transformation doesn’t come from pressure or grand strategy. It comes from reflection, humility, and consistency. People don’t change because you tell them to. They change when they see themselves differently.

As a doHow® Coach, I don’t give answers. I create the space for answers to emerge. And every time that happens, I’m reminded — I didn’t change them. They changed themselves.

The doHow® Way — Light. Reflection. Prosperity.

That’s what doHow® On Demand Leadership truly stands for — lighting the path for people and organisations to grow, reflect, and flourish. For more than a decade, I’ve watched doHow® turn workplaces into living, learning ecosystems —
where people think sharper, collaborate better, and lead naturally.

And behind it all — glowing quietly in the background — are doHow® PEP and doHow® ACT, the twin lamps that made it all possible: enabling remote mentoring, transparent progress, and continual learning. For more than a decade, I’ve watched doHow® evolve — from conversations on a factory floor to digital ecosystems powered by PEP, ACT, Readiness, and Dialogue — each one a lamp lighting the next step on the path of learning.

So this Diwali, as lamps light up homes and hearts, I celebrate those invisible lights — the moments of courage, reflection, and growth that make companies and people shine.

Because every time a person reflects,
every time a team learns,
every time an organisation grows —
another lamp of prosperity is lit.

That is the doHow® waySimple. Reflective. Real. Lighting minds, empowering people, and turning performance into prosperity.

Happy Reading and a Happy Deepavali!
